Your tasks and areas of responsibility

We are looking for a result oriented and experienced Accounting Manager with solid technical knowledge within accounting who wants to work in a high paced and quickly changing environment. As Accounting Manager at Epidemic Sound, you will have a key role in the continued growth of the company in a scalable and effective way. The role requires being in the details and getting hands-on with key account reconciliations, reviewing journal entry bookings, IFRS interpretations, as well as designing new processes and structures to optimize Epidemic Sounds process for Record to report. Moreover, you will be responsible for interpretation and implementation of accounting standards, where you need to stay up to date with current legislation. Depending on your previous experience and interest you will get the opportunity to take an active role in the consolidation and eventually having personnel responsibility for the accounting team.

The position is placed at Epidemic Sounds head office in Stockholm, and you will report to the Director of Accounting.

 Your main responsibilities include:

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of the Groups consolidated financial statements according to IFRS
  • Participate in the monthly and quarterly close process; prepare key account reconciliations and review reconciliations performed by the accounting team
  • Contract reviews according to IFRS 15 to ensure accurate revenue recognition
  • Responsible for accounting in the parent company Epidemic Sound Holding II AB
  • Provide technical support and advice on complex accounting and financial reporting topics under IFRS and Swedish GAAP
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelines
  • Ensure good internal control structure and work closely with the internal control team to update control descriptions and perform self-assessments
  • Liaise with the Tech department on the process of tracking and reporting R&D projects, including impairment testing on a yearly basis
  • Keep our finance manual up to date

Your profile

You have a university degree within economics, and we believe that you have around 10 years relevant working experience after graduation. To be suitable for the position you have thorough knowledge in accounting with the ability to educate junior team members. You have experience from month-end closing and reporting processes in a public company. You are experienced in IFRS, and it is desirable that you have experience from an international group structure and been involved in IFRS technical accounting projects. You re fluent in English, as this is the company language at Epidemic Sound.

Since you will be part of a dynamic and fast-growing environment you need to be able to adapt to changes, have strong analytical skills and a structured way of working. You have a high level of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail, and you are skilled at identifying problems, seek root causes as well as develop and implement practical timely solutions. As you will have contact with different stakeholders in the organization you have an outgoing personality and can quickly, efficiently, and accurately work with multiple teams and colleagues.
