Swedish Match is now seeking to strengthen the Group IT team by employing a Junior Business Controller with a genuine interest in finance, analysis, strategy, and IT. We are looking for an ambitious team player with strong analytical skills, and we are eagerly awaiting your application!

About the position

In this role you will be working within the Finance and Project Management (FPMO) department. As a Junior Business Controller you will be responsible for a number of recurring tasks mainly focusing on assisting in analysis and follow-up of Group IT’s and Regulatory Affairs & Group Communications’ business performance for management purposes and board purposes. The role will also participate in smaller and larger ad-hoc projects.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior colleagues in a highly professional and international environment. The position is located at the Group’s head office in Stockholm City and you will report to Head of Finance and Project Management.

The purpose of the department is to ensure cost control and ownership within the Group IT and Regulatory Affairs & Group Communications functions over line cost as well as project/activity costs. The department is furthermore responsible for developing and maintaining the Group IT demand and project management process, securing how Group IT projects and activities are requested, approved, prioritized, financed, and managed throughout its delivery, as well as supporting with skills and resources to lead and manage projects and activities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Junior Business Controller, you will primarily work with the following tasks:

  • Perform analysis of Group IT’s and Regulatory Affairs & Group Communications’ financial and operational development to facilitate internal understanding.
  • Produce high-quality monthly and quarterly management reporting of the functions’ (Business Updates and related materials).
  • Support the functions’ planning and forecasting process. Efficiently produce high-quality consolidation and analysis of actual costs, forecast and LRP.
  • Maintain and develop system requirements for financial forecasting/planning (e.g., make sure the reporting structure stays relevant for performing analysis, develop additional functionality to suit business needs)
  • Participate in ad-hoc/special projects
  • Perform ad-hoc business analysis.

Your profile

You have a university degree in Business & Economics or Industrial Engineering. You have recently graduated or have 1-2 years of relevant work experience within controlling, accounting, finance, or consulting. You are fluent in English and have a high degree of literacy in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.

As a person you are a high performing individual with a strong interest in business, financial analysis and strategy. You have a high degree of diligence and strong analytical skills with the ability to structure and communicate complex information and data. You are a fast learner with the ability to see the big picture but also understand the importance of details.
