Swedish Match now needs to strengthen the Group Tax function and is therefore looking for a Tax Specialist who, together with the VP Group Tax, will work with the Group´s Swedish and international tax issues. The Group Tax function are responsible for the total tax position of the organization enabling common structures and processes for the Group and providing excellent services within the tax area.

You will assist, manage and contribute hands-on in the daily activities at the Group Tax Department. This involves producing, analyzing and recommend proper reporting and activities in areas like Tax Accounting, Tax Compliance, Transfer Pricing and other areas of corporate tax and where appropriate indirect tax issues.

In this role, you will have many contacts both within the Group and with external advisers in Sweden and in the countries where Swedish Match is established.

The position reports and work closely with the VP Group Tax and is located at the Group’s head office in Stockholm City.

Key Responsibilities

You will primarily be responsible for the following areas:

  • Analyze and follow-up the Group´s tax expense and tax payments in the financial reporting at closing of the books.
  • Review and follow up the corporate tax calculations and income tax returns in Sweden prior to submission.
  • Update and develop the transfer pricing documentation.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in the tax reporting, transfer pricing documentation and pricing of intercompany transactions.
  • Assist in acquisitions, divestments and restructurings.
  • Assist and follow-up on compulsory filing obligations in the area of international taxation.
  • Assist other personnel at the Tax Department and other Departments in all kind of tax matters.
  • Interpret and assess new tax legislation and its impact on Swedish Match.
  • Establish professional relationship with relevant in-house and external stakeholders, authorities, main suppliers of tax-services and other relevant bodies.

Your profile

You have a university degree in Business & Economics or Law and approximately 2 to 3 years experience of qualified tax issues in a large organization, perhaps as a consultant or at a larger corporate tax department.  You speak and write English fluently and you are an advanced user of MS Excel.
