About the position

You will lead the Group Business Control & Sustainability department with the objective to produce high quality planning, analysis and follow-up of the Group’s development in the financial, operational and sustainability areas. You will also participate and contribute to ad-hoc/special projects such as M&A or similar. You will have the full leadership responsibility for a high-performing team of 6 people.

Swedish Match addresses sustainability with the same priority, and management approach, as the rest of our strategic priorities. Group Business Control & Sustainability plays a driving role to integrate sustainability into our business review, strategic planning, and risk management processes. The department also ensures a consistent approach to sustainability reporting across the group. We follow-up our sustainability goals and KPIs in the same rigid manner as our financial targets.

The position reports to the VP Corporate Finance and is located at the Group’s head office in Stockholm City.

Key Responsibilities

You will primarily be responsible for the following areas:

  • Lead the Group Business Control & Sustainability department, ensuring high-quality analysis of the group’s financial and operational development to facilitate internal understanding and external performance communication for group management and the board
  • Drive the financial and strategic forecasting and planning process for the group
  • Manage the sustainability reporting at group level; Support group management to set sustainability strategy and targets/KPIs; Drive the integration of sustainability perspective into operational performance review and strategic planning process.
  • Ensure efficient system support for group financial and sustainability reporting and analysis
  • Participate and contribute to ad-hoc/special projects for example M&A activities and strategy development
  • Support the CFO and VP Corporate Finance in liquidity planning and developing shareholder remuneration proposals. 
  • Participate in the central risk committee, responsible for driving and coordinating the enterprise risk management process;
  • Manage the target-setting and outcome calculation process for group level executive incentive programs

Your profile

You have a university degree in Business & Economics or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years’ experience of qualified business controlling in a large organization, or similar experience from management consulting or financial advisory. Prior experience in M&A related activities, and a good interest in sustainability/ESG questions are considered a plus. You speak and write English fluently and you are an advanced user of MS Excel and Powerpoint.

As a person you are a high performing individual with excellent analytical, problem solving and financial modelling skills. You are structured, effective and actionable, with ability to prioritize. You work proactively to plan actions in advance with close attention to details. We see that you possess leadership skills (past formal leadership roles considered a plus). In addition, you are a service-minded team player while also strong in performing independent work. You dare to challenge senior managers when needed and have the integrity to never take the easy way out.
