In 2020, Business Unit International was created with the purpose to expand the Swedish Match smokefree product portfolio footprint on all international markets (excluding Nordics, US, and Canada); with the objective to create a new growth ticket for company as well as reducing smoking prevalence and improving public health. Our current priority is to rapidly make ZYN nicotine pouches available world-wide, buildup a strong commercial network and win the hearts and minds of the consumers. About the position

In this position you will have the full ownership of the business control agenda for Business Unit International and set the long-term targets and priorities together with the Vice President Business Unit International. You will lead the team and the financial processes focused on analyzing business performance, supporting management decision making and ensuring efficient business practices.

As Director Business Control, you will be a member of the Business Unit International Management Team and you will have a dotted line to Business Control within Swedish Match Europe Division. You will report to Vice President Business Unit International and the position is located at the Group’s head office in Stockholm City.

Key Responsibilities

Your main tasks and accountabilities will be:

  • Lead and develop the Business Control function as well as the financial strategy process for Business Unit International.
  • Develop and ensure efficient, lean and high-quality business and financial reporting.
  • Provide support and guidance for functional leaders in financial related quires.
  • Be a member and a key contributor to the business unit’s management team
  • Be responsible for developing business cases for the unit and lead ad-hoc strategy projects together with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and ensure high-quality KPIs and other strategic targets in line with Business Unit International’s long-term agenda.
  • Lead the way for streamlining internal key performance metrics and make it available to relevant stakeholders, for example via BI-tools.
  • Develop and improve efficient models for pricing, business cases and sales forecast planning.
  • Actively promote a result- and business-oriented culture within the Business Unit.
  • Participate and contribute to ad-hoc/special projects.
  • Coach the Business Control team, currently two people, be responsible for the team budget and personnel. 
  • Select needed external partners on local markets to collect sales and consumer data.

Your profile

You have an academic degree in Business or Economics and minimum of 10 years’ experience of qualified business controlling in a dynamic environment, or similar experience from management consulting or financial advisory. You have experience from a global work environment and high level of proficiency in English. Prior experience of business expansion is considered a plus. Furthermore, you have a system savvy and high degree of literacy in Excel and BI tools.

As a person you are a high performing individual with excellent analytical, problem solving and financial modelling skills. You are structured, effective, and actionable. One of your key strengths is to prioritize your work and translate complex information and data into recommendations. You display a strong interest in business performance and endurance in projects. Finally, you also need people management skills and thrive working in a dynamic and international context.
